The Department of Applied Education within the College of General Education offers pre-service teacher education programs (Bachelor of Science in Teaching STEM and Master of Science in Teaching STEM), as well as a master’s program for practicing teachers (Master of Science in STEM and TVET Education).

Your Commitment
The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing the pre-service teacher education programs, with the additional responsibility for coordinating university–school partnerships and overseeing all aspects of the School/Industry Experience I, School/Industry Experience II, and Practicum courses.
This includes identifying and establishing collaborations with local public and private schools, as well as building and maintaining effective relationships with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and other relevant stakeholders. The candidate will develop and manage a coherent framework for student professional practice, recruit and train mentor teachers from schools and industry, organize and monitor placements, conduct regular school visits, and provide feedback to student teachers and mentors to ensure high-quality, consistent, and professionally aligned field-based learning experiences. The role also involves ensuring that all field components meet institutional and national standards and contribute meaningfully to teacher preparation and program accreditation requirements.
In addition to practicum coordination, the candidate will contribute to teaching within the College of General Education. Where appropriate, thesis supervision may also be assigned.
The successful candidate is further expected to engage in applied research and scholarly activities related to teacher education, contribute to peer-reviewed publications and external funding proposals, and actively participate in departmental, college, and university committees, accreditation processes, and professional and community service activities.
