University of Doha invites applications for the position of Associate Dean, College of Engineering and Technology. Reporting to the Dean, College of Engineering and Technology, the Associate Dean must be a proven leader with the skills and expertise necessary to support the academic affairs of the College in fully implementing its mission and vision.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, the Associate Dean plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing the strategic vision and academic leadership of the College. This leadership position is integral to the effective planning, organization, and management of the College’s diverse academic programs and initiatives. The Associate Dean actively collaborates with faculty, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to foster a dynamic educational environment that promotes excellence in teaching, research, and service.

 

Key responsibilities include providing leadership in managing faculty and administrative teams, promoting faculty professional development, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic programs that align with the College’s mission and goals. The Associate Dean is dedicated to enhancing student success by supporting initiatives that improve learning outcomes, retention, and graduation rates.

 

Additionally, the Associate Dean is responsible for the comprehensive operational management of the College. This encompasses oversight of course scheduling, curriculum development, continuous program assessment and revision, faculty recruitment and retention, as well as budget planning and fiscal management. The role demands close collaboration with Departments Heads and other College leaders to ensure efficient resource allocation and to maintain compliance with institutional policies and accreditation standards.

 

By effectively balancing academic leadership with administrative oversight, the Associate Dean contributes significantly to the sustained growth, innovation, and reputation of the College of Engineering and Technology.

Qualifications

Earned PhD (or equivalent as designated and approved) in a relevant discipline from a recognized, accredited institution and should demonstrate evidence of scholarly, professional, and creative achievement sufficient to qualify at the rank of Professor/Associate Professor.

  • Professional Certification relevant to the Disciplines taught in the College.

 

Experience:

  • 8+ years of employment experience with a combination of experience as a practitioner/ professional within the relevant discipline, as well as experience in a supervisory/management role within the relevant discipline.
  • Eligible Professors & Associate Professors that have exhibited consistent exceptional performance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a post-secondary institution where applied, industry-aligned programs in Engineering and Technology are offered.
  • Strong knowledge of and substantial experience with the development, delivery, evaluation and program accreditation of Engineering and Technology programs at college or university level.
  • Demonstrated leadership in post-secondary administration in a similar leadership position.
  • Record of successful participation/leadership in applied research projects.
  • Experience in leadership and innovation in technology-based projects.
